What is a Bowtie Diagram?
It’s a visualisation which displays, in a single easily understood picture, how you manage risks. Before and after they materialise. The headline risk or “Top Event” at the centre is surrounded by possible causes (on the left) and outcomes (to the right). So it explains which barriers reduce the likelihood, and how you can mitigate the severity of the outcomes.
